Leading enterprise digital transformation - case studies and lessons learnt

Abstract:
The digital economy continues to expand and accelerate. Increasingly, every digital transformation initiative must sustain holistically from an enterprise level of consideration. In this session, Sew Bun will discuss major enterprise digital transformation initiatives he has led from the perspective of technology and operations in several enterprises over the past twenty years. Topics include drivers and considerations for 1) enterprise digital transformation, 2) approaches and solutions adopted by these enterprises, 3) lessons learnt from enterprise level of considerations, and 4) potential impact of skills needed for our students in leading digital transformation. Due to confidentiality reasons, some company related IP and sensitive information will be masked during this talk.
Bio:
Sew Bun has been serving as an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Information Systems and Analytics since 2008. Over more than twenty years, Sew Bun has held senior technical leadership roles as an IBM Distinguished Engineer and Chief Technology Officer with IBM, Global Head of Digital Transformation (Retail Banking, Private Banking and Wealth Management) with Standard Chartered Bank, Deputy Chief Executive with GovTech, and Managing Director and Group Head Technology Services with DBS Bank. He had also served on national and corporate boards and committees, including Chairman and Senior Advisor of the National Infocomm Competency Framework (NICF) Steering Committee, member of the Keppel Technology Advisory Panel, member of the NUHS IT Advisory Committee, National Research Foundation advisory committee, Deputy Chairman of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants IT Services Advisory Panel, member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants CFO Committee, member of the IBM Technology Advisory Panel chaired by IBM Chairman and CEO. Sew Bun was named IT Professional of the Year by the Singapore Computer Society in 2016.
