Automatic Problem Solving for Basic Education

Abstract:
Automatic problem solving for basic education has become a hot research topic in recent years, being a long-standing challenge problem because it involves NLP, knowledge understanding, reasoning, recognitive learning, pedagogue and so on. This talk is going to introduce the relevant facts on this research topic: 1) the brief introduction of the educational technology; 2) some facts and thoughts on automatic problem solving; 3) some advances on problem solving for basic education.
Biodata:
Yu Xinguo is a Professor and Dean of CCNU Wollongong Joint Institute and Professor of National Engineering Research Center for E-Learning at Central China Normal University, Wuhan, China, Senior Member of both IEEE and ACM, and an Adjunct Professor of University of Wollongong, Australia. He is a member of steering board of PSIVT conference and a member of steering board of Smart Educational Technology Branch Society under Automation Society, China. He received Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from National University of Singapore. He worked at Institute for Infocomm about 15 years in intelligent transportation, multimedia processing, and computer vision. His current research mainly focuses on intelligent educational technology, educational robotics, multimedia analysis, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality.
