ABSTRACT:
How are technologies used in the financial market? How new technologies disrupt traditional financial markets? What are the challenges? In this talk, I will elaborate how different financial markets work differently, and summarize the existing technology mediated platforms and discuss how new disruptive technologies might have an impact on traditional financial market. We will also discuss few examples on how big data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning may provide technology-enabled solutions to financial management.
BIODATA:
Dr. Zhang Weiqi is a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Finance, National University of Singapore. She is also a Junior Professor of Finance at the Muenster School of Business and Economics, University of Muenster, Germany. Prior to that, she was a Visiting Fellow in Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Weiqi has taught various courses to a large cross section of students in several different countries. Weiqi's research areas include FinTech, financial forecasting, personal finance, and empirical asset pricing. Her research has been published in leading academic journals, including the Management Science. Weiqi obtained her Ph.D. in Finance from NUS Business School and Bachelor of Computing (with Honours, minor in Financial Math) from National University of Singapore.
