Abstract:

What is a Paradigm ?

"A basic way of perceiving, thinking, valuing and doing things that are associated with a particular vision of reality."
- Willis Hartman, "An Incomplete Guide to the Future"

"A set of rules that define limits, and establish what's necessary to be successful within those limits."
- Joel Barker, "Discovering the Future: The Business of Paradigms"

The shift to Programming Paradigms has changed the way we study the codebases developed and compose large applications by "Integrating" them. In this lecture the "reality checks" and "limits" are modeled as constraints. A Theory of Constraints that spans across multiple programming paradigms is used to illustrate the aspects of Interoperability and Integration of the codebases. E-HACK 2013 is an event that has made it to the GUINNESS BOOK of RECORDS. The speaker was fortunate to be with core the technical support for this event. E-HACK 2013 is a Case Study for this lecture.
