Abstract:

This talk describes ongoing work in code analytics-based binary analysis, which started during my PhD. Binary analysis is needed for tasks such as security auditing and malware analysis, however manual effort is tedious and error-prone. The key premise is to leverage on existing open source code bases, e.g. Linux and Github, applying a combination of program analysis and code analytics to analyse executable code. This talk will cover some of the challenges encountered, initial results and future work in this area.
